Jay leads the business and messaging conversation and can bring in Wendy Wilder to map the customer path with BASE3. We review the data you have, identify the gaps, and recommend a plan. SingleFig is an option when it fills a gap; we can work with your existing CRM. Campaign execution, software setup, and ongoing management are scoped separately.

Years of collaboration · A practical consulting offer
I’ve worked with psychologist JD Pincus, AgileBrain’s Chief Innovation Officer, and the AgileBrain team for years. That work has shaped how I approach brand strategy, coaching, and customer understanding. AgileBrain adds an image-based assessment of emotional needs to the conversations and evidence we already use. It gives us another way to investigate motivation before committing to a message.
JD’s book with Ken Beller, Why They Buy: The Emotional Needs Your Marketing Ignores, brings the motivation question directly into marketing. The book maps twelve emotional needs and explores why two people with the same age and income can choose entirely different brands. The explanation a customer gives may leave the emotional need underneath the decision unexplained. For marketers, that is a reason to investigate motivation alongside demographics and purchase behavior.
What I value in JD’s work is the discipline of asking which need a brand serves before choosing the tactic. The practical test comes next: interpret the evidence with care, turn it into a message, and check what changes. An assessment supports judgment; it does not establish what every person will do.
Explore Why They Buy and the authors’ account of the researchRobert Cialdini, author of Influence and Pre-Suasion, calls it “a rigorous and useful addition to the persuasion literature.” Randall Rothenberg, former CEO of the Interactive Advertising Bureau, describes it as “psychotherapy for brands,” a diagnostic tool for building strategy around psychological drivers.
Book launch offer: In his October 1, 2026 announcement, JD shared a $2.99 ebook price through Monday, October 12. Check Amazon for the current price in your region. If you read it and find it useful, leave an honest review.
The connection reaches back to JD’s 2024 book, The Emotionally Agile Brain: Mastering the 12 Emotional Needs That Drive Us. Both books put emotional needs at the center of understanding people, connecting the history of AgileBrain with the customer questions we explore in Clarity to Conversion. In his October 1, 2026 update, JD also announced that an audiobook of The Emotionally Agile Brain was coming soon and shared its Chinese edition.
I developed Clarity to Conversion with Wendy Wilder to carry those lessons into consulting. AgileBrain informs the emotional understanding. Wendy’s BASE3 method maps customer decisions, content, and channels. My strategy work connects that evidence to the business problem and an accountable plan. This is the science-plus-consulting approach described on our Clarity to Conversion site: JD’s assessment supplies emotional insight; we interpret it with the client, clarify positioning, and build messages that fit the customer’s decision process. The work is led by consultants, with technology supporting the relationship.
We start with the quality and permissions of the available data, examine what matters to the audience, and identify where the message or customer path loses people. You receive priorities for positioning, segment messages, content, and measurement. We agree any campaign execution or software implementation separately.
